Miniature Watercolour Pet Portraits
Hand-painted in watercolour from your photographs.
Sometimes it's the tiny things that bring us the most joy.
I'm Tracy Christina, a watercolour artist living and painting aboard a widebeam boat on the canals of the UK — and I make miniature watercolour portraits of the animals people love. Dogs, cats, horses, birds, and everything in between, painted by hand in my floating studio and shipped to homes throughout the UK and all over the world.
Small paintings. Lots of love.

What is a miniature pet portrait?
My miniature pet portraits are hand painted in watercolour, gouache, and sometimes waterproof ink, on quality watercolour paper, at a size that fits in the palm of your hand. Tiny but mighty, these pieces are packed with detail, and I take just as much care and attention with these miniature paintings as I do with my larger commissions. Each one requires a great deal of care, patience, small brushes and a magnifying glass!
I will paint pretty much any animal in miniature - from your beautiful dog, adorable cat, sassy horse - or maybe you just have a thing for goats - if you provide me with a photo, I'll joyfully create the painting for you. Starting at just £37 plus postage & packaging.
Miniature pet portraits are a gift worth giving
If you're looking for a truly unique and personalised gift for a pet lover, a miniature watercolour portrait is hard to beat. It's thoughtful without being predictable, it's personal, one of a kind, deeply meaningful, and will be displayed and treasured.
Whether it's for a birthday, Christmas, celebrating a new puppy, a milestone, a thoughtful memorial gift for a grieving pet parent, or it's just a Tuesday and you want to do something lovely for a loved one, a hand-painted miniature portrait of someone's favourite creature is a gift that will surprise and delight.
Miniature pet portraits also pair beautifully as a companion piece to a larger commission - a little collector's treasure to sig alongside a full portrait.
Start your miniature watercolour painting collection
One of the lovely things about miniatures is that they invite collecting. One becomes two, two becomes a little quirky gallery wall of everyone you've ever loved, in miniature. (Honey, I shrunk the puppy!) I've had many clients come back to commission me to paint additional portraits for themselves or as gifts. They in particular make perfect presents for people who are short on space (for instance if they happen to live on a narrowboat, and wall space is at a premium!)
